Sunny Sun, CSW, FWS, WSET Level 3

Sunny Sun graduated from Lyon, France with a Master’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Her wine credentials include WSET Level 3 and WSET educator, Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) and French Wine Scholar(FWS).

Her passion for wine grew during her studies in France where she took the opportunity to taste wine extensively as a hobby. She has gained insights into the local wine industry by working for 7 years within the local wine & spirits sector. Her sales experience include dealing with local hotels, restaurants and club houses. Besides sales, she is also involved in providing wine training & consulting and cellar planning services to clients both locally and in China.

Bernard Mak, WSET Level 3

Bernard Mak is a WSET Level 3 certification holder and WSET educator. He has a wealth of valuable experience in the hospitality and service industry. He started off as a Cabin Crew Member in Singapore Airlines and moved up the ranks serving Singapore’s award winning national carrier for 21 years (with his last position being Chief Steward for 7 years). Subsequently from 2009, he joined a well-known restaurant establishment, the Les Amis Group, helming the now defunct one-Michelin star Cépage in Hong Kong as a restaurant manager. He also undertook a similar role at Au Jardin, one of Singapore’s top restaurants. Currently he is working at Singapore Wine Vault as a Wine & Event Specialist.

David Chan CFBE, WSET Level 3

David Chan serves as the Honorary Secretary (General) of the Association of Bartenders & Sommeliers, Singapore and is instrumental in the organization of the National Cocktail Competition, the Asia-Pacific Bartender of the Year Competition, the Wine Sommelier Challenge, and the Wine Gastronomy Masterclass. He has trained and judged in many overseas training and competitions in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Macau, Taiwan, China, Maldives, Mauritius and the Seychelles.

He was formerly the Vice Principal of the Wine & Spirit Institute (SHATEC), the Singapore Hotel And Tourism College, where he had 30 years of training experience since the formation of the college.

He is a Certified Food & Beverage Executive (CFBE – a professional designation awarded by the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association), and an USA Certified Trainer for Training for Intervention Procedures, a Responsible Service of Alcohol program for the bar and retail industry. He holds an UK Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 certification and has attended the Wine Tutor program conducted by the Bordeaux Wine School in France.

Anthony LC Yeong, WSET Certified Educator, WSET Certified Sake Educator, DipWSET

A mechanical engineer by training, from a prestigious Japanese university and with hands on leadership roles in US Fortune 500 and Malaysian public listed companies, Anthony has brought with him the adventurous spirit of an entrepreneur and leadership combined with the analytical skills of an engineer. Anthony possesses a strong passion for wine and is continuously upgrading himself through academic certifications and hands-on exposures at winery visits and trade shows. Having spent many years in Japan and Australia, Anthony brings with him the global exposure in providing the best quality, tailored services, customised to fit every individual, in a unique and innovative way. Anthony holds a Level 4 WSET Diploma in Wines & Spirits, acquiring his knowledge from the prestigious WSET London School and also a WSET Certified Educator. He is also a Certified WSET Sake Educator and one of the first WSET accredited Sake specialist in South East, actively sharing his passion for wine, spirits and sake education and consulting for the F&B industry.

Gianfranco Casati, WSET Level 3

Gianfranco Casati is serving as senior executive in a large multinational company in the technology sector. Based in Singapore while Italian by origin, he was born surrounded by vineyards and his grandparents owned vineyards themselves. Despite life took him elsewhere – he graduated in economics and started an international consulting career early on – he never cuts his ties with wine. On the contrary his interest has consistently developed as years of international business travels have allowed him to know several wineries and their wines. A genuine connoisseur, he brings his global experience and technology acumen in his storytelling about wines. Owner of a personal collection of hundreds of bottles between London, Singapore, France and, Italy, he holds an UK Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Level 3

Valentin de Miguel, WSET Level 3

Valentin de Miguel is a wine passionate and avid wine learner. Born and grown around the Rioja region in Spain, where his friends and family have been for years engaged in the wine business, he has developed a passion for wines around the world. Currently working in the consulting business for a multinational firm and based out of Singapore, he has had a global career which has offered him the invaluable opportunity to learn on the ground about the different tastes and opportunities in the wine world. He holds first and master’s degrees in business as well as in law, and a passion for technology that he applies to his interest for wine. He holds an UK Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 certification and he is WSET Wine Course Educator.

Joshua Kalinan MSS, 日本清酒侍酒师大师, 日本清酒SSI官方认证讲师

Certified Sake Scholar, Sake Sommelier of the Year 2018, International kikisake-shi(SSI), WSET Sake Level 3, CSS, CWE

Among numerous accolades, Joshua Kalinan recently achieved Certified Sake Scholar. Originally trained and certified in wine, Joshua developed an interest in sake after completing the Certified Wine Educator (CWE) examination in Tokyo and began training as a Certified Sake Sommelier (CSS).

Joshua was awarded the prestigious International Kikisake-Shi certified by the Sake Service Institute (SSI) in Japan and achieved WSET Level 3 in Sake. His passion in sake awarded him a scholarship to study sake & shochu in Tokyo.

In 2018, Joshua was the first Singaporean crowned the title of Sake Sommelier of the Year by the Sake Sommelier Association (SSA), United Kingdom. He earned the coveted qualification of Master Sake Sommelier (MSS) in the same year.

A year later, Joshua was appointed by SSA as a judge at the Sake Sommelier of the Year competition. Global media recognitions followed, CNN spotlighted Joshua and his story in the feature ‘Escape the Ordinary’ filmed in Singapore.

Joshua has curated sake lists for Singapore Airlines. He has been sharing his love and passion for sake by providing training in Singapore for the International Kikisake-shi program and Certified Sake Sommelier program.
